Native American Viscose Netted Shorts

First and foremost these viscose (Vi-skows) Native American printed shorts are in tribute to and in honor of the Native American people of this land and the culture we are all apart of by just living in the Bay Area.  Growing up in the Bay Area you learn about the history as a kid and if you're lucky enough to live in areas like Hollister, CA where I grew up for ten years, you will find Missions around the area of San Juan Bautista and Pinnacles National Park.  We are all connected to each other and if you move here and live here for more than a couple years, you will find yourself relating to the different cultures even more so and might even learn your family heritage extends even further than you realized.  

This collection is about our Bay Area roots and the history of the land we live on.  Its important to preserve the history and maintain respect for our Native American people and culture we are all apart of by living here in the Bay Area.  My Aunt Birdie is of Native American heritage and has exposed me to the cultural and spiritual practices of her ancestors and I will always respect and share that connection.  I pass the appreciation and love onto you and hope you find as much pride as I did the first time I was invited to learn more about the rich history we share being here in the Bay Area.  

In honor of this heritage I wanted to create something unique and rare.  These are made of 88% Viscose, which is made from natural wood pulp, from trees such as eucalyptus, beech, and pine.  The other 12% is Polyamide, which is similar to nylon, but more durable than Polyester and has UV blocking properties that help make for better more breathable shorts in this case.  This material also creates a softer feel to the garment without compromising durability.  These are truly amazing for the Fall season in the Bay Area or Southern California as we get micro climates and spells of gorgeous weather.  Truly amazing for Summertime because they breath even in the heat and are thick enough for the later evenings.
