Bay Native was created in 2009 by a local Bay Area artist and designer named Stephen Fisher, who is originally from San Jose, CA, but has lived in multiple cities all around the Bay Area. Stephen comes from a Spanish, Mexican, and German heritage with family from the Philippines and from Guam. Inspired by his upbringing in a multi-ethnic family and learning from different cultural influences from both sides of his parents, an idea to create a brand that told a story of who he is and where he comes from started to manifest. Growing up in different cities in the Bay Area, he realized early on that he wasn't the only person who comes from a multi-ethnic family and who was influenced by their own culture as well as the Bay Area's diversity.
Embracing the world around him and the culture of the Bay Area as well as celebrating his own heritage, he realized even more so that there wasn't a brand that really represented the people of the Bay, the struggles we face when living here, and the adversity we must overcome just to feel normal and lead normal lives. Living or visiting in the Bay Area you quickly learn that we have microclimates and micro cultures that intersect us and make up our much larger community of diverse people who share in a vast number of interests ranging from music, sports, gaming, artistry, academics, intellectual interests, culinary arts, street foods, social spots, festivals, fairs, a large number of cultural holidays, and not to mention what we are most known for which is our Tech Industry, our exposure to it, and how it immediately impacts our lives.
The people that move to the Bay Area or are born and raised here are the most beautiful representation of a cultural mosaic and what community should look like. We should be celebrating who we are as people everyday and feel comfort in the fact that we live in an area that allows us to express ourselves without permission and are encouraged to do so. Bay Native is a badge of honor and representation of a greater community of diverse people and cultures who share in the same struggles, concerns, ambitions, passions, and compassion for humankind and the people around them. We show "All Walks Of Life" can live and build with each other and we prove "We Are the Culture" that represents the world around us. We attract people from all over the world because of the spirit we preserve here in the Bay and take with us wherever we go.

The Quail if you do not know is the California bird and represents hardiness and adaptability. California quail live in a variety of habitats like we do as a community and have a diet of seeds, leaves, flowers, berries, and invertebrates. They are family loving and social birds, forming flocks called coveys and have a distinctive call that sounds like "Chi-ca-go". The California quail have exceptional speed and take their cardio quite seriously for survival. They represent us as a diverse culture because they are as unique as we are and have very similar characteristics.
